Whats this thing now, driving me wild, I gotta see wats up before it gets me down......Indeed....Common formely known as Common Sense put together a nice one here...Its funny he dropped the sense from his name but his songs always makes some kinda sense...This song got a nice energy to it...I like these kinda songs upbeat and entertaining with a message ya dig...Each verse is sayin summin separately n collectively....The first verse to me is basically about a girl who does everything to look fine just to get a certain kinda of dude (actor, rapper, sports figure). She works out, go to strip tease classes and all dat...She works out to look the finest just to get this type of dude and when she gets wat she looking for she realize she is only one of many...Its like a girl putting a tattoo of a guys name or vice versa so that person would love them but that person ends up not caring...Now that can bring u down....Now that can make crazy like the astronaut lady(remember her).....The second verse is about a dude who as money already and try to follow wat he sees on T.V. trying hard to be like some one else...Basically wat i get from this song is if you doin something just to please some one else stop it.....If you working out to look fine do it for urself....If u gettin bigger boops do it for urself..Dont try too hard to please others it only drives you crazy...When u feel like u tryin too hard u probally are....Overall tho this sing is tight....The beat is straight hip hop...Lily Ailen voice sounds good on the hook especially with her England accent...Common lyrics are on point and make sense not many rappers can do dat....Grade A for dis one......

She Rocking that thang like....I Choose this song for 2 reasons tho...First, I really like this song...The Dream is an excellent songwriter he has written some of your favorite songs like "Umbrella" by Rihanna, 'Bed" by J.Holiday, Mariah Carey's "Touch my Body." So the dude is nice with the pen....He kinda remind me of Prince as far as how he sounds vocally....This song sounds smooth...The beat blends perfectly with the melody....Not to mention it makes the ladies rock they thang on the dance floor which brings me to the next reason why i chose this song...It taught me a valuable lesson...Well a lesson i already know but was reminded of...A lil story for yall....While in the club over the weekend chillin doing my two step....Guess wat song came on...yes u guess it "Rocking That Thang." Now there was this girl right in front me rocking her thang and i must say she was rocking it quite well....Rocking it so well it enticed me to pull up on her bumper....We rocked the song away...After the song we stepped back and started talking...I do admit the girl was cute and bootiful if u kno wat i mean...Pretty face, slim in the waste and blessed from the behind but when she opened her mouth my god.....She talked my head off for the next four songs....Wat made it worse was wat she was talking about made no sense...Physically she looked good but her conversation made her so ugly....I told her imma gonna get her a drink and dissappeared in thin air...The point is fellas dont caught up in a girl cause of he way she rocking her thang....But overall this song gets 2 thumbs up...The video is flashy and goes along with the song.....She rocking that thang like....

First off let me say this is a very good song and the video is tight too....Black and white video with color coming in and out....But seriously what is the Good Life? Im sure everybody probally got there own interpertation of what the good life is...To some one who works never having to work again is probally the good life.....To some one who is broke being rich is probally the good life...I would really like to know what people considers the good life...Talk to me.....But what I like about this song is the confidence he shows in it when he is like "I goes for mine, I gots to shine" and in the chorus " Imma get on this t.v. momma imma imma put it down." The beat is hot and lyrics is on point....This is a feel good song....I likes it....But at the end of the day whatever you consider to be the good life do what it takes to live it.. My son is 6 yrs old and he knows who Bob Marley is....But this song " No Woman No Cry" is a great piece of work. The lyrics in this song is basically saying life is life no need to worry you know....Its saying no need to cry....No need to stress just know everything gonna be alright right?.......Bob Marleys lyrics mixed with is soulful voice n the instruments makes this song Grade A. So ladies if your going thru hard times right now listen to this song a couple times will ya.........

Whoa! This song is magnificent....I mean lets be serious this song is great...I know u can feel me when i say you wish the partner your with tell you these words. Whats good....I hope we all had a wonderful n blessed weekend...This is Rhyme n Reason 6...This week I went with Alanis Morissette's "Ironic." This song is one of my favorite from her album Jagged Little Pill. Check it out "Ironic."
First of all the video is ironic. She's driving herself around. When i first heard this song i was like this a pretty depression song. I mean listen to the lyrics. "Its like rain on your wedding day, Its a free ride when you already late, Its a good advice you didnt take." Its like everything going wrong. But in all reality, it be like that sometimes so i could relate. You know those times when your looking for say your camera to capture a moment but couldnt find it. Then a week later when you dont need it you find it...Isnt it ironic....You know how some times you might wake up late for work and your rushing and as you get on the highway there is a traffic jam.....Isnt it Ironic......I guess what she is trying to get across she says in the song " Life as a funny way of sneaking up on you, Life as a funny way of helping you out." What do you think? Overall tho I really dig this song. The lyrics are clever. The video in a funny way fits the song. I think its a very creative song....

Whats good people........Rhyme n Reason 5 is here.....Last week it was Nas "I Can" and this week I went with Sizzla Konlaji again. Sizzla is a well known reggae artist from Jamaica. He is not related to Bob Marley but its easy to see he is one of Bob Marleys off spring musically. I use him in Rhyme n Reason 2 with is song "Give Me A Try." (Scroll down to Rhyme n Reason 2 if u didnt check it out.) But i chose him again because this song "Rise to the Occasion" says everything we need to be thinkin right now. Before i go any further check it out Sizzla Konlaji "RISE TO THE OCCASION."
Woooo Weeee Luv this song. Gets me pumped everytime i hear it. As u can see this video is not a million dollar video or a hundred thousand for that matter. Matter of fact, Im sure it cost less than ten thosuand to make and the camera is probally the most expensive part. But hey the message is priceless. I mean listen to the lyrics. But the reason i chose this song this week is because of its message. As we all kno this past week on 1/20/09 the United States of America swore in its president elect Barack Obama. We all watched and witnessed history. We also kno how the last president left the country in a bad state and Barack Obama brings hope to the table. But here's the reality. Obama already did what he came to do which is inspire. Of course he as to do his job as president and try to make things better as a country as well as world wide but his message is aready sent. Which to me is simply u could make it if u try. Do not look for Obama to change ur life and the direction ur life is going. He can only make the road better for u to walk on but u still got to walk. With that being said we must Rise to the occasion. We as individuals must do our parts too. I truly believe this world will only get better if we as a people get better. If ur black, white, yellow, pink, blue, gay, straight, in between, young, old, please kno that u got the chance. Its up to u to make the best of life. Get up n step towards ur goals its alright, fulfill ur needs n wants. Overall this song gets 3 thumbs up from me. The lyrics is sharp. The beat is tremedous. The message jus puts the icing on the cake. It dont get no realer. I kno reggae is some time hard to make out because of the broken english so i posted the lyrics for u to check out.

I Know I Can, Be what I wanna Be.....Woooo....This is an expectional written song from my point of view....First of all, you dont hear too many songs with a positive message geared towards the kids. Now dont get it twisted because of the kids on the chorus and all the kids in the video doesnt mean this song dont apply to u too. This message is for all of us no matter race, age, or where u from. You can literally be what you wanna be if you work hard at it. See alot of people just have dreams but dont want to work to make the dream come thru. I gotta a sayin "Yes dreams do become reality, but without hard work its fantasy." You could be what u want to be but u got to work hard for it. But let me show u the power of powerful music. My son is 6 yrs old now. (True Story) When my son was 3 and he was in the car with me whether we im taking him to daycare or just riding to wherever I was always play this song. Call it brainwashing or what ever but after awhile he would start to sing along. I played it so much around him he knew the words at a young age. Now he carries that I know I can attitude. I guarantee you if u say i know i can he would reply be what i want to be. Now wouldnt we all love for all to kids to sing a song like this. But overall its a well written song. The hook and the music is very catchy. I like they way he dedicated the first verse 1 n 2 to the young girls n boys. The 3rd first he just took us thru the history books that was never written. Nice Song dont u agree? First let me say the music is on point. The intro is captures u off top. The guitar is inducing and Anthony Keidis voice blends perfectly with instruments. That being said what do u think this song is about??? Dont kno okay okay i will give u my opinion. I have been told this song is about drugs and the way it makes u feel. I think in particular heroine. If u listen closely to the lyrics u will hear "take me to the place i love where i drew some blood." That should be enough proof right there. But i am gonna be honest when i first heard this song i didnt figure that out. So i have two different feelings n outlook on this song. I mean the first impression i got from this song is that it was written from lonely feeling we all get sometimes. Which it probally was. I automaticaly identified with the song. It actually struck a nerve. Cause I have actually felt at times all alone with no one to talk to or no one to give an helping hand. And trust me that is a lonely place and for the writer to tap into the realm musically, that is talent people. Its hard enough to dig deep within yourself and talk about that loneliness let alone write a song about it. But hey music is therapy especially when it shows you your not the only one feelin certain feelings. Now, when i heard it was about taking drugs ironically it still made sense to me. Some times when lonely n down some people turn to drugs. Now let me say i do not think its the right think to do but lets just be real for a sec. If u ever took any kinda drug you know that high you get for the first time you could end up chasing it for the rest of your life. But overall this song was written and put together brillantly. Once again it shows great artist write great songs from the most inspiring thing which is life.

Now i remember when i heard this song for the first time. I was at the barbershop sitting in the barbers chair getting my haircut when Give it a try came on. I was like WHOA! who the hell is dat....I turn my head and the barber almost messed my haircut up..(No Lies). That was probally around the time the song first came out. See back then i was drawn to the song because of the beat and melody. The combination is quite appealing to the ears. Since then i probally heard that song a thousand times singing the lyrics and all. But to be honest it wasnt until a couple months ago that realize the high quality of music this is. It wasnt until i was in that situation till i realize this is not a love song this is a reality song. Let me ask a question have u ever been dumped? I mean let go by a person u truly feel u love. And let go because of your stupid decision making. Well if u did i know u would feel this song for sure. The writer had to been thru what we all go thru to write this song because it reflected the feelings one feels fa real.....I mean Check the lyrics

My God....Thats how i felt like give me a try cause i've learnt my lesson and i know things would be great just give me try....Now thats the sign of a great song when u can captivate some one with the music n then capture them again when it makes sense to them. So for having a hot beat, great melody n making music from reality this song is all good with me....
